1. Program Aims
The programs within the Biological Engineering network aim to:
provide a biological engineering education suited to the needs of students, employers and relevant professionals;
produce successful and adaptable students with both subject-specific and transferable skills which enhance their employability;
prepare students for employment, further study or research and for lifelong learning.
2. Program-specific learning outcomes
Successful students will be able to develop and demonstrate transferable intellectual skills, in particular their abilities as follows:
Acquire a knowledge base including key concepts, principles and theories on microbiology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, fermentation engineering etc.
Acquire basic technology including microbial cells cultivation and strain breeding, biotechnology and engineering, etc.
Be engaged in the design, production, management, research of new technology, development of new product etc, in the field of biological engineering.
Be familiar with the relevant guideline, policy and laws in relation with biological engineering industry.
Understand of modern biological engineering industry development trends and application prospects.
Master the basic methods of literature search and material query, and have the ability of scientific research and practice.
